MORE BIG NEWS!!!
NEW Band Member - Sam Acus
We played at Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival Labor Day weekend. We had a very special guest playing with us. It was Samuel Acus who comes from Vermont. He is a GREAT mandolin player with an awesome energy to his playing. He also has a great voice!
Well... The show went so well, we asked Sam to join the band fulltime and he accepted!!
So, PLEASE make welcome, the NEWEST member of Breakin' Stings, Mr. Samuel Acus!!
Below is a little more info about our newest member.
To start, Sam Acus is just 16 years old, but he has already had a lot of experience in bluegrass.
He went to his first bluegrass festival before he was born, and every year since then it’s been a tradition.
He grew up with a lot of music around him, and one day, he decided to pick up the mandolin.
Since then, he’s had a wealth of experience playing and performing with it. His solo performing
experience goes back to when he was 10 years old, when he performed at the One Radish Eatery in Richmond, Vermont. He also has performed at Club Passim, Zenbarn, Beaver Island Music Festival, in addition to sitting in with groups such as the Jacob Jolliff Band and Man About a Horse, etc.
Sam is super excited to join Breakin’ Strings!
When Breakin' Strings started all those years ago, our motto was.
"Putting the youth back in Bluegrass"
That is exactly what we plan on still doing.
Welcome aboard Sam!!
